  • Student will need to submit an application for a PhD in a topic related to Art and Religion. The particular aim of the research is the production of new artistic works focused on biblical material and other expressions of religious belief in a self-reflexive and research-focused way. The output should consist of discursive textual material and an artistic work or works focused on biblical material or some other expression of religious belief. The successful candidate will have undertaken undergraduate work in both the biblical/religious studies area and in fine art for three years and will have a Masters degree in at least one of these areas.

International Merit Scholarships

Thouron Awards
The awards are made for one or two years, and provide full funding (approx. $60,000) covering tuition fees and a maintenance stipend.
Fulbright Traditional Postgraduate Awards
The award covers up to $40,000 for the first year of study only, as well as health insurance and university application and entrance exam fees.
Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation Scholarships
Scholars will receive grants at an annual rate of not less than 3,000,000 Japanese Yen to cover accommodation and living costs.
