Qualifying Details In memory of her father, Michael M Xylas (known as MMX to the City of London), founder of the Astron/Faros Companies, Mrs Matti Egon-Xylas has established an annual scholarship of £10,000. The scholarship is open to an arts or science graduate of Greek origin (with a first-class honours degree or equivalent) of moderate means who wishes to extend his/her studies in shipping, trade and finance. This scholarship may be shared by more than one student. Astron Maritime Co SA is a Piraeus-based ship management company and is represented in London by the Faros Companies, members of The Baltic Exchange since 1948.
