  • Candidates will be selected on the basis of their merit and promise, and financial needs. The most important selection criteria will be those envisaged by Andrew Carnegie: that the candidates are qualified and deserving, industrious and ambitious, and that they would derive particular benefit from obtaining a postgraduate degree, which they would be unlikely to attend without the award. This bursary is available if you are studying: A Masters level course - Courses that only lead to a certificate or diploma are not eligible. Research based postgraduate courses are also exempt from this scheme. Either one year full time or two years part time - You must be able to obtain Masters level study within this timeframe. If your chosen course fits the criteria above, you can apply if you: Are Scottish by birth OR Scottish by descent (at least one parent born in Scotland) OR have at least 3 years of further and/or higher education in Scotland which was funded through the Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS) and for which you were eligible to apply for a student loan. Have a place on your chosen course at UWS beginning in the 2015-16 academic years.

10% discount on tuition fees.
Postgraduate Scholarship (UWS Graduates Progressing to Postgraduate Course)
10% will be deducted from tuition fees on progression to postgraduate study.
International Research Excellence Scholarship
3500 Full self-funded full fee paying students may be eligible for a £3,500 scholarship upon receipt of completed application with associated documentation. You may also be entitled to a further 10% Early Payment Incentive. for 1 Academic year
British Marshall Scholarships
University fees, cost of living expenses, annual book grant, thesis grant, research and daily travel grants, fares to and from the United States and, where applicable, a contribution towards the support of a dependent spouse. for 1 Academic year
