Qualifying Details The department has a number of EPSRC studentships each year. These are for both Mathematics and Statistics PhD students. These pay fees plus maintenance for UK citizens, fees only for non-UK EU citizens. The maintenance grant is roughly £12,940 per year. It is likely that statistics PhD students will receive an additional £2,000 per year. The department provides generously for PhD students, for example in terms of travel money for conferences, office space and through providing all PhD students with a departmental laptop for use during their PhD. It is involved in the APTS, MAGIC and NATCOR schemes for training of PhD students in Mathematics and Statistics.
