Qualifying Details The Department of European Languages and Cultures has one Fees-only Bursary available to a high calibre new full-time PhD student, renewable up to 3 years subject to satisfactory progress. This award is open to all applicants but the value is capped at UK/ EU rates. Awards will normally be made in the form of a fee waiver. Recipients will need to meet their general living expenses themselves. It is expected that candidates in receipt of Faculty bursaries will be put forward for Research Council Funding at the end of their first year of study. The bursary will involve an element of teaching. Candidates interested in applying for this scheme, should contact the Department of European Languages and Cultures to discuss the details of their application. The deadline for this scheme is 15 May.
