  • To be eligible for this funding students must meet the criteria for Scottish domiciled or EU fee status and be domiciled in the Highlands and Islands Transition Region for the duration of their studies. In accordance with funding regulations, tuition fee support will only be available to students who meet the funding eligibility criteria and are self-funding i.e. who are not in receipt of funding for tuition fees from other sources, including employers. Funded places will be allocated and successful applicants notified in June.

  • The University of the Highlands and Islands is pleased to offer a limited numbers of places with full tuition fee support for Scottish-domiciled/EU students, studying full time, on this course starting in September 2017 to help talented students join this key growth sector for the Scottish economy. Fees will be funded by the European Social Fund and Scottish Funding Council as part of Developing Scotland’s Workforce in the Scotland 2014-2020 European Structural and Investment Fund Programmes. Eligible programmes are: Applied Bioscience Skills for Industry MSc Archaeological Practice MSc Archaeological Studies MLitt Art and Social Practice MA Aviation MBA Business Administration MBA Developing Low Carbon Communities MSc Sustainable Energy Solutions MSc Sustainable Rural Development MSc Web Technologies PgCert (part-time study over one year) Applications are welcome from all suitably qualified applicants. Students who do not meet the eligibility for the tuition fee support, or are not successful in being allocated one of the limited places, will be responsible for paying their own fees. However, there are other potential sources of funding support available.

2000 This scholarship offers each worth £4000 as a contribution towards the tuition fees, for any one year of study, on an Undergraduate, Masters or PhD course. for 1 Academic year
Carnegie Cameron Taught Postgraduate Bursaries
4000 Each award has a value of up to £4,000 which will be deducted from the tuition fees of successful applicants. for 1 Academic year
South Asia Subcontinent Scholarship
1150 The scholarship for BA/BA (Hons) is £900 and BSc/BSc (Hons), BEng/BEng (Hons) is £1,150.
Taught postgraduate Loans
4500 From 2017, eligible Scotland domiciled students studying full time for any taught postgraduate course up to full Masters level can access loans up to 10,000 from the Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS).
UHISF Scholarship (USA citizen only)
2000 $2000 for any one year of study.
Fully-funded PHD studentships 2016/17
The studentship covers fees at the Home/EU rate only, plus a stipend at the RCUK level, for a total of 42 months (including writing-up).
