The Heriot-Watt University Bursary is designed to be similar in value and qualifying criteria to the typical packages provided from the National Scholarship Programme in England, and is intended to help and encourage students from lower income backgrounds to choose Heriot-Watt. There are two levels of support depending on household income as assessed by Student Finance England, Northern Ireland or Wales: If your residual household income is up to £25,000, you will be eligible for an award of £3,000 per year payment contribution to living costs. If your residual household income is between £25,001 and £42,600, you will be eligible for an award of £2,000 per year payment contribution to living costs. Only students from England, Wales and Northern Ireland who are adjudged to be 'Rest of UK' (RUK) for fees purposes may be considered for RUK bursaries.
