  • This scholarship is available to mathematics trainees starting their teacher training in the 2015/16 academic year. To be a mathematics scholar, students will need to have exceptional subject knowledge, enthusiasm for the study of mathematics, and outstanding potential to teach. Successful scholars will be offered additional support from the IMA, LMS, RSS and MEI to enable them to make a significant contribution to the development of mathematics teaching in the schools where they train and work. The package will include membership offers, access to teaching resources and academic journals, and early career support.

NCTL Bursary for PGCE (Physics)
Trainees with a 1st/PhD or 2:1/Masters are eligible for £25000 bursary; trainees with 2:2 are eligible for £15000 bursary; trainees with a relevant degree and at least a B at A-level in physics are eligible for £9000 bursary.
NCTL Bursary for PGCE (Maths)
For trainees with a 1st/PhD: £25000 bursary; for trainees with 2:1/Masters: £20000 bursary; for trainees with 2:2: £15000 bursary; for trainees with a relevant degree and at least a B at A-level in maths: £9000 bursary.
