  • The Department for Education has targeted Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Languages as areas with the greatest recruitment challenges and offers the largest bursaries for these subjects. There are other layers of non-shortage subjects, attracting lower levels of financial support. Bursaries are also graduated, favouring students with the highest qualifications. Candidates need at least a 2:1 for most subjects although students with below 2:2 can still get onto an ITT course and access student finance.

4500 The application form ONLY needs to be completed if the student is a young adult carer currently being supported by their local authority or carer charity.
