  • To be eligible for a bursary: the applicant should meet the standard entry criteria for research degrees; the research proposal should be in one of the topic areas specified below: Food and Drink; Gastronomy; International Health and Development; Media & Film, Applied Communications and Culture ; Psychology; Rehabilitation Sciences; Clinical Audiology, Speech and Language Research; Applicants may apply to study on a part-time or full-time basis, but they must be willing to be resident within reach of Edinburgh; Applicants must be willing to study for a full PhD, not an MPhil. Applicants may come from the UK or any other country. Successful candidates are likely to have a good qualification in the relevant topic: either a first class honours degree or a Masters. Dedication, enthusiasm and strong communication skills in both written and spoken English are essential. International applicants are welcome to apply for QMU studentships.

Each award is worth £4000 and will be deducted from the tuition fees due.
Fulbright Scholarships
Each year between 8 and 14 awards are offered.
British Marshall Scholarships
The award covers fares, tuition fees, maintenance, book, thesis and travel allowances.
QMU International Scholarships
The scholarship of £3,000 is granted as a reduction of the tuition fee.
Santander Scholarships
5000 Scholarships will be available up to the value of £5,000. for 1 Academic year
