  • Only Applicants who have resided in the London Boroughs of Tower Hamlets, Newham or Hackney for at least three years may apply. Applicants must be assessed by Student Finance as having a residual household income of £42,600 per year or less – the threshold within Student Support regulations for students eligible to receive a maintenance grant. Applicants must be the first member of their immediate family (parents and siblings) to go to university. This must be the first time students have entered higher education. For full eligibility details, please refer to the website Thanks to a well-established collaboration between Dentons and the School of Law, we are proud to announce a new annual bursary of £6,500 available to first year law students enrolling in 2016, 2017 and 2018. This bursary is available to local students who are the first in their family to attend university. The bursary recipients can renew the award in their second and final year (subject to renewal criteria). Recipients will be expected to volunteer for Dentons’ Poplaw Free Legal Advice Clinic, and will be encouraged to apply for the Dentons’ summer placement scheme.
