  • The process for applying for a full PhD is as follows: Stage 1 - you must make an application to CAPES/CNPq in Brazil, either directly or through your institution. Stage 2 - Students are selected by CAPES/CNPq. Stage 3 - once you have been selected for Science without Borders and wish to study in the UK, you should complete the IOE's online application which you will find linked from the PhD programme page. You will find more general guidance on our research degrees here. Stage 4 - The IOE will assess your application against the normal criteria. If we offer you a place, we will inform you and Universities UK (UUK) which administers the Science Without Borders programme in the UK. Stage 5 - You will be required to sign the terms and conditions document for Science without Borders. Stage 6 - You should then apply for a UK visa with assistance from the IOE and CAPES/CNPq. Stage 7 - Travel to the UK to commence your studies. Doctoral programmes can begin in October, January or April, or at other times by mutual agreement.

IOE-China Scholarship Council Scholarships
The scholarship covers tuition fees plus stipend for living expenses. for 4 Academic years
Santander Master's Scholarships
5000 This Scholarship is awarded for one year only, and consists of a one-off award of £5,000.
Professor Malcolm Grant Scholarship (PG)
25000 The successful recipient will be awarded £25,000 for the duration of their programme at UCL subject to satisfactory academic progress, payable in equal instalments as determined by the length of the programme of study.
Postgraduate Support Scheme (PSS)
These awards will be offered in the form of tuition fee bursaries, with any balance paid as maintenance funding.
Greenbank Scholarship
10000 The value of the bursary is £10,000. The payment is to be applied to tuition fees in the first instance, with any remainder being paid to the successful applicant towards maintenance in termly instalments.
Andrew Szmidla Postgraduate Scholarship
10000 The successful recipient will be awarded £10,000 for one academic year only which may be applied directly to tuition fees or paid in three equal instalments throughout the academic year towards maintenance.
UCL Alumni Scholarship for 2015/16 Entry
10000 The value of the scholarship is £10,000.
Indonesian Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP) - UCL Joint Scholarship (Indonesia)
Scholarship worth 25% of the tuition fee to scholars whose PhD tuition fees are paid by the LPDP; Scholarship worth 10% of the tuition fee to scholars whose Master's tuition fees are paid by the LPDP.
The IOE and Vietnam International Education Development (VIED) Scholarships
The scholarship will cover tuition fees, insurance and living costs in the United Kingdom for one year.
