  • The applicants can be associated either with a Department, or with one of the School's interdisciplinary Research Centres or with the LPS School as a whole. Visiting Fellows may be proposed by a member of faculty in the School, or by the applicant themselves. The School can offer the Fellows a vibrant, interdisciplinary context within which to undertake their planned programme of study or activities. In each term, the School hosts a variety of stimulating research events including open papers and lectures by external and internal academics, workshops and lunchtime seminars. Fellows will be appointed to a sponsor who can facilitate their integration into the life of the School. The School and University's infrastructure and environment can support the Fellow's research activity. These Fellowships are awarded competitively and the School will normally support 3 or 4 of these Fellowships at any one time. The award is made based on the applicant's profile and track record; anticipated contribution the applicant will make to the School's academic life; quality of the proposed project or activity; fit between the applicant's interests, and those of the proposer and host centre or Department and the appropriateness of the proposed outputs.
