  • This award is open to Welsh students living in designated Welsh Communities First postcodes. They must be applying through UCAS as a new student entering a full time undergraduate programme at foundation level or year 1 starting in 2017. They can enter in 2017 from a Cardiff Metropolitan franchise programme e.g. HND or Foundation degree course. Cardiff Metropolitan University must be their Firm Choice University on their UCAS application at June 30 2017. They must have a household income less than £50,020. They must be registered with Student Finance Wales and give 'consent to share' their household income details. There are two versions of the award available (students can only apply for one). Living First Package, includes: A contribution to accommodation costs for those living in halls/ approved rented accommodation (£500 towards your rent in term two, in January); a catering package of £20 per week during term and a print and copying allowance of £50. Study First Package (for those living at home), includes: A university and city bus pass for your whole year of study (worth over £200); a catering package of £20 per week during term; a print and copying allowance of £50 per term and a voucher to help with book purchases (£150). The award is given in all years of study. Payment of the award in years 2 and 3 (and 4 for certain subjects) is subject to the successful progression onto the next year of study. The award will not be provided to anyone having to re-sit a whole year. Students do not need to re-apply each year, allocations will automatically roll over.

Undergraduate Sport Scholarship Award (Level 1 Platinum)
Year 1: £6500 for accommodation or tuition fees and Year 2 & 3: £2000 for accommodation. For each year: Catering/campus allowance: £500, Cash: £ 700 and Private Medical Insurance.
