  • Candidates are expected to have completed their doctorate but may be at any stage of their career. Candidates who have previously held a Fellowship at the Warburg Institute are eligible to apply for the Brill/CHASE Fellowship. No interviews will be held. Shortlisted candidates only will be contacted in early February 2016 to ask them to submit samples of their written work. All shortlisted candidates will then be informed of the final outcome of their application in March 2016. The amount of these payments is absolute; no additional costs will be paid.

  • Applications must be emailed to the Institute by no later than 12 noon on Friday, 27 November 2015. All application documents must be sent as a single PDF document. Candidates should NOT submit publications or written work with their application. Those shortlisted will be contacted in early February and will be asked to send material at that stage of the application process.

The main purpose of these bursaries is to offset the cost of fees but a contribution towards maintenance will not be excluded. Applications will be considered mostly according to financial need.

The Institute also has a Student Travel Fund which provides grants for research visits by full-time MPhil/PhD students in their second and third years and part-time MPhil/PhD students in their third, fourth and fifth years.
