• Applicants must: be nationals of an African country (including nationals of Madagascar), attending the African Leadership Academy; be liable to pay tuition fees at the rate applicable to Overseas students, as assessed by UCL; hold a current offer of admission (either conditional or unconditional) to a full time undergraduate degree programme of study at UCL which they have firmly accepted. Accepting UCL as the insurance offer choice does not satisfy the conditions of the scholarship; lack the financial means necessary to pursue undergraduate degree studies at UCL.

• Application details:
• Each year, ALA may nominate up to ten candidates for consideration for the scholarship. Each nomination must be accompanied by a full scholarship application including all required documentation, a statement of support from ALA (including details of financial circumstances), and an essay, no longer than 500 words, on a topic determined by UCL. Application forms and supporting documentation are to be received by UCL by 31 January.
