• Applicants must: be holders of Hong Kong Permanent Identity Cards or Chinese citizens who have received full-time education in Hong Kong and/or China for no less than five of the eight years immediately prior to the start of study at UCL; apply for admission through UCAS and have received an offer of a place at UCL and have firmly accepted the offer. Please note that accepting UCL as an insurance offer does not satisfy the conditions relating to the scholarship; hold an offer of admission to full-time undergraduate degree studies at UCL in any area except Medicine; NOT be attending any schools in the UK or currently enrolled at UCL; be self-financing and liable to pay tuition fees at the rate for overseas students; be in financial need and unable to fund their planned studies at UCL without financial help.

Important Note: Potential candidates must ensure that they submit a full scholarship application by the deadline irrespective of whether an offer of admission has reached them or not. After the deadline, the UCL Student Funding Office will check to confirm whether the scholarship applicant holds an offer of admission to one of the eligible UCL programmes and on what date that offer was made. Scholarships applicants without an admissions offer at the time of the scholarship deadline and for an eligible programme will be excluded from the competition at this point.
