  • Bursary payments: Year 1 £1500 cash Year 2 £1500 cash Year 3 £1500 cash Eligibility In order to qualify you need to demonstrate that you are: • A new full-time level 4 undergraduate student starting university for the first time in 2016. • Working with an eligible referring Young Carer’s organisation and able to provide evidence of carer status, in the form of written documentation from the organisation. A list of organisations can be found on our website. • Ordinarily resident in England, Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland. Exclusion criteria • Students who have their fees paid (in full or in part) through a sponsorship arrangement. • Social work students will be eligible in level 4. If a student receives an NHS Social Work Bursary at level 5 and 6, they are then excluded from the Young Adult Carer Bursary scheme. • Courses based at Reaseheath College i.e. FD Animal Management (Behaviour & Welfare), FD Animal Management (Zoo) and BSc Wildlife Conservation & Ecology are NOT part of the Cheshire Young Carer Bursary Scheme. • Courses based at the Hammond School. • Students who are in receipt of the University of Chester Ultimate Scholarship. • Students on the Foundation Year at the University of Chester.

International Scholarship
The scholarship amount ranges from £500 - £2000 per student, and is awarded for each year of study at the University.
Care Leavers Bursary 2017-18
7000 The scheme will normally provide Care Leavers with £7,000 of benefits over their three years of study.
Scholarships for Sport
1000 Awards will not exceed £1000 per year for each selected scholar and will be awarded in two instalments. One prior to Christmas and one at the end of February.
Scholarships for Music
800 Choral and instrumental scholarships worth £800 in total per annum.
Thornton Prize
500 This will consist of a £500 cash payment in year 4 of MEnge Course
