This section lets you plan the finances you will need while at university.
Key Money Facts
Almost all of new students go into Halls of Residence in their first year. The hall bill includes all utility bills (heat, light etc), but usually you have to cook your own meals.
The undergraduate university year lasts for 38 weeks. However, you will usually have to continue to pay for accommodation over the summer, in order to be sure of a house in the September of your second year.
Your fees will be paid by the Student Loan Company, direct to the University.
Students in lower income households will have part of their living costs met through a non-repayable maintenance grant. Their entitlement to Student Loan for maintenance will reduced, to reflect this.
