The BGU Learning Grant is an additional source of funding available to full-time students. Students must satisfy the following criteria in order to qualify for the Learning Grant:
- Studying a full-time BA (Hons) undergraduate or PGCE course which began on or after 1st September 2012 or Foundation course that started on or after 1st September 2014
- Have a houshold income (as assessed by an awarding authority such as Student Finance England) of £25,000 or less
- Not in receipt of a National Scholarship Programme award
Students satisfying these conditions will be awarded a Learning Grant of £350
In addition, students who can provide evidence they have financial responsibility for children in their household can access a higher rate of Learning Grant of £500
Students who can provide evidence of care leaver status can apply for an enhanced Learning Grant. This provides a top-up of £600 in year one of the course (paid in addition to the £3,000 National Scholarship Programme). In years two and three, an enhanced Learning Grant of £3,600 is available.
