Fees

In 2009, the overwhelming majority of universities in the UK will be charging the maximum permitted level for home fees of £3225 for UK residents taking Undergraduate degrees. This will rise to £3290 in 2010. Fees are often less than this for Foundation degrees and Higher National Diplomas. You should always check directly with the university concerned.

The home fees regulations require ordinary residence for at least 3 years in the UK and Islands, or in the EEA, Switzerland, overseas territories and/or Turkey. In most cases, it is clear whether you have been ordinarily resident in the relevant area. If you are uncertain about the residency rules for entitlement to home fees, please consult the Fees section of the UK Council for International Student Affairs (UKCISA) at http://www.ukcisa.org.uk

'Overseas' fees can range from £3,500 to about £18,000 per year depending on the institution, the level of course and the type of course.
